In 1968, LONGINES introduced the Ultra-Chron Diver, the original dive watch with a high-frequency movement. LONGINES had already established itself as a leader in high-frequency technology. As far back as 1914, the brand created the first high-frequency device for timekeeping, capable of measuring 1/10th of a second. In 1959, they developed the first high-beat movement for a wristwatch, an observatory chronometer that set new standards for accuracy. The new Ultra-Chron draws inspiration from the 1968 model's aesthetics and professional diving capabilities. These chronometer-certified watches are powered by an exclusive LONGINES calibre that features a silicon balance-spring and is highly resistant to magnetic fields.
